Since its inception, the MRCC has supported a number of clinical research fellows. Our fellows work across specialties to help deliver a diverse portfolio of research studies and clinical trials related to rare conditions.
Having dedicated clinicians available to support numerous projects simultaneously allows research teams across our Trust to accept more opportunities to deliver these complex trials, expanding our potential to access and develop novel treatments for patients.
Our current fellows are involved in trials into Rett syndrome, Fragile X syndrome, Aicardi-Goutieres Syndrome and PIK3CA-related overgrowth spectrum (PROS), as well as a large portfolio of inherited metabolic disorders in collaboration with the Willink. They also support many non-interventional research studies, clinical audits and registries which greatly improve our understanding of our services and patient populations.
Our fellows have opportunities to accrue additional clinical experience and pursue their own research interests and projects, in line with their individual training and career goals.
Here is a list of some of our Research Fellows and their specialist areas.
